What are Tocopherols?

Tocopherols are a class of organic chemical compounds, many of which have vitamin E activity. It’s also known as tocopheryl acetate, tocopherol acetate, or vitamin E acetate. Both tocopheryl and tocotrienol have four forms, known as alpha, beta, gamma, and delta.α-Tocopherol is the major form found in green parts of plants, while tocotrienols are mostly found in seeds. These compounds are antioxidants, thus they protect the plant from oxygen toxicity (see: Wikipedia).
